North Africa Health, Safety, Environment and Quality consultants (NAHSEQC) is a consultancy firm specialized in providing assistance to companies in all industry sectors in the management of occupational Health and Safety, the Environment and Quality (HSEQ).
Our assistance covers both the establishment of the Management System and its implementation within the agreed scope of activities of our client. The Management Systems are set up according to the internationally recognised standards namely OHSAS 18001-2007 for Occupational Health and Safety, ISO 14001-2004 for Environment and ISO 9001-2000 for Quality.
NAHSEQc is also specialized in providing training solutions in HSEQ for awareness as well as advanced user levels.
NAHSEQC provides expertise in setting up HSEQ Management Systems, in 3 optional languages namely, English, French or Arabic, according to international standards. Once these systems are in place NAHSEQC coordinates the certification programme the client wishes to obtain. This can be ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 or an Integrated Management System that combine 2 or more of these systems into one.

· Wording, rollout and amendment of the company’s HSEQ Policy.
Planning
Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control.
· Defining the company’s hazard identification and risk assessment procedure and conducting the necessary risk assessment required by the project.
· Conducting and amending Environmental Impact Assessments and obtaining the necessary government approvals
· Conducting and mending Major Hazards study and obtaining the necessary government approvals.
· Conducting HAZOP/HAZID studies and other work place or special activity risk assessments
Legal and other requirements
· Setting up a process by which Legal Requirements are continuously monitored, identified and complied with.
Objectives and Programmes
· Defining the company’s (5 year) HSEQ strategic objectives as well as annual HSEQ improvement objectives.
· Elaborating you annual HSEQ Plans/Programmes to achieve set objectives.
· Elaborating bidding and contract execution HSEQ Plans.
Implementation and Operation
Structure and responsibility
· Definition of HSEQ responsibilities for the different levels of the organisation.
· Assistance to senior management to deliver their leadership role and to demonstrate the necessary commitment to the continual improvement of HSEQ performance.
· Budget elaboration and resource allocation to ensure HSEQ objectives are met.
· Setting up a risk based decision making approach
· Recruitment and coaching of HSEQ professionals
· Provision of temporary HSEQ Officers for site monitoring during project execution.
Training, awareness and competence
· Setting up a competence assurance programme
· Setting up a routine and job specific training programmes
· Delivery of in-house HSEQ training courses such as Management Systems, Permit-to-Work, Risk Assessment, Hoisting and Lifting, Manual Handling and Hazardous Substances.
Consultation and communication
· Setting up the company’s Health and Safety Committee and coordinating its meetings.
· Setting up regular employee HSEQ meeting for awareness and feedback purposes
· Elaboration of the company’s HSEQ communication plan.
· Design and Coordination of the employee HSEQ Suggestion and Near-miss Reporting Incentive Scheme.
· Design and coordination the company’s Behavioural Based Safety programme.
Documentation
· Organising the company’s HSEQ Management System Documentation.
· Elaborating the HSEQ Management System description document.
Document and data control
· Establishing the company’s document and data control systems. This includes a document reference system as well as a document approval and issuing process and revision schedules.
Operational control
· Definition of HSEQ precautions within the routine operational control procedures.
· Design and implementation of Management of Change systems
Emergency preparedness and response
· Design and implementation of Emergency response systems. Coordination of Drills and Exercises and debrief sessions.
Checking and Corrective Actions
Performance measurement
· Definition of performance criteria, including both positive and negative indicators.
· Conducting site inspections and other checks against performance criteria.
Accident,
Incident, non-conformance and corrective and preventive action · Establishing a process for defining corrective and
preventive actions, allocation priorities, assigning responsibilities
and following up on action closure. Records
and record management · Identification, maintenance and disposing of HSEQ records · Definition of record retention periods. Audit · Defining the company’s auditing process · Training company’s internal auditors · Defining the company’s auditing programme · Coordinating the implementation of the auditing programme · Conducting specific audits and compliance checks. · Defining terms of reference of the management review to
ensure continuing suitability of the HSEQ Management System and decide
on policy changes if necessary. · Coordinating the Management Review meeting and issuing
